Do you feel that marketing is not your cup of tea?
Are you weak in marketing?
Would you like to learn and implement the marketing strategies?
Do you still feel that the digitalization of marketing is not needed yet?
Would you like to know the importance of personal branding in marketing?

Let’s answer each of these questions in detail so that it will be easy for you to build confidence and start your marketing tactics as per the current market requirements.

First and foremost we need to accept that marketing is a science and not an art or creativity. I can very much convince you about this. So let’s understand what is science?

It’s the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

Marketing also needs proper research, the study of human psychology and behavior.

Marketing starts well before the product launches into the market. You can only launch the right and profitable product when you have thorough knowledge and understanding of customer’s requirements. Hope I’ve managed to convince you that marketing is a science.

Now, it’s time to understand the fundamentals of marketing and how they work.

What is marketing?

Marketing encompasses the strategies and tactics brands use to promote their products and services to consumers. Everything from market research to writing ad copy falls within the realm of marketing.

There are several essential frameworks available in the industry that you can apply to market your products and services. The 7Ps of marketing is one of these frameworks that you can use from your marketing toolkit. In 1960, Edmund Jerome McCarthy came up with the concept of the 4Ps marketing mix. The structure contained: product, price, place, and promotion. This framework was an adequate framework for the time which focused on products. As the economy developed and more service-based organizations started to rise. The 4Ps of the marketing mix got an update from Booms and Bitner in 1981. The 7Ps of service marketing is what came out from the update and what we will review today.

The below diagram will explain each “P” in detail.

Since we have understood what marketing is and it’s fundamentals. Now, let’s look at the medium by which the marketing message is conveyed to the customers.

Earlier, we used to rely on radio, TV, newspapers, and magazines to convey our marketing message. Each of these channels was very expensive in terms of cost for delivering the message but the results were not that satisfactory as none of them used to help in direct marketing or influence the end-user.

If you look at the current situation, I mean after the evaluation of technology and social media. Everything seems to have changed, it’s very easy to convey the marketing message to the end-user, and that’s even with the minimal cost. You might have got confused about which channels am I referring to?

Let me quickly clear your confusion. I’m referring to the very effective and result oriented marketing tactic which is none other than digital marketing.

Some of the most prominent channels include in digital marketing:

Content marketing
Email marketing
Social media marketing
pay-per-click advertising

Digital marketing vs. traditional marketing: what’s the difference?

The main difference between digital and traditional marketing is the medium through which an audience encounters a marketing message. While traditional marketing uses traditional media like magazines and newspapers, digital marketing uses digital media, such as social media or websites.

Which type of marketing should you use?

The key to a great marketing campaign is to find the right balance between traditional and digital. In 2020, Both play an important role in a marketing strategy, but they are each elevated when used simultaneously.

So is Digital Marketing replacing Traditional Marketing?

Someday digital marketing may replace traditional marketing methods, but not right now. However, digital marketing is a necessary supplement to every marketing strategy.

The gap with traditional marketing is in the measurability of return on investment. Plenty of companies have found that their return is not nearly where it used to be when traditional marketing was the only option. Because of this, business owners are left wondering if they need to change things up with their marketing.

Before digital marketing, you knew if your advertising was working based on increased sales. This is still the primary indicator to determine if your marketing is working or not, but with digital media, you have much more useful data to improve your marketing based on insights.

According to me, content writing plays a vital role in digital marketing. Most of each digital marketing channel is based on writing the content. Hence it becomes very essential for marketers to focus on good content writing.

I’ve come across a very good model of content writing. If that’s followed properly then it will help you to turn your target audience to loyal customers. I wouldn’t be wrong if I’ll say that this model is innovated by a great digital marketing expert called Digitaldeepak. As I’ve not seen this anywhere else.

Now, it’s time to reveal that secret model. It’s known as the CATT funnel.

The below diagrams will explain more about it.

C.A.T.T. – Content, Attention, Trust & Transaction.

Niche: It’s nothing but a selection of the topic that you’re interested in which you wish to share with other people to create value in their life.

When you have good quality content that helps your users and solves a problem for them, you are getting more attention from them and it allows you to build trust.

You are reading these words right now and you are paying attention to me. In the background, your trust level with me is also going up. This trust can be leveraged to convince you to make a transaction with me.

When I have something to sell, you will pay attention to me because you trust me.

Your niche would give you the desired result if you combine your passion, talent, and target market.

By looking at the above diagram, you can easily find that niche requires an equal contribution from each of the components that is passion, talent, and target market.

Till now, we have learned about various channels of digital marketing and CATT funnel. Now it’s time to understand whether each of the channels will work better on their own or if the combined effort of all these channels would work better.

I believe the combination of these channels would help us more to get the desired results.

We call it integrated digital marketing. Let’s learn more about that in detail.

What is Integrated Digital Marketing & How Can It Help Your Business?

Integrated digital marketing is, as it sounds, the integration of multiple marketing strategies to form a cohesive online approach for your business. Here’s what it typically includes: Content marketing, email marketing, SEO, Social media, and paid advertising.

If you look at the above diagram, content marketing plays a vital role hence it is placed in the center. And other channels are placed surrounded by that. However, each channel complements content marketing to get sales and convert. It means good content writing is essential but if the proper use of other channels is not in place then you might not be able to convert more customers and sell them your products.

I can sense you’re tired reading this lengthy article. No worries, we’re almost done with this last learning “why personal branding is important in marketing”?

Your personal brand is how you promote yourself. It is the unique combination of skills, experience, and personality that you want the world to see you.

It is the telling of your story, and how it reflects your conduct, behavior, spoken and unspoken words, and attitudes. You use your personal branding to differentiate yourself from other people.

Personal branding helps you to build trust which slowly and steadily helps you to become an ambassador where people trust you in mass. If you succeed in building a mass trust then you can easily sell your product to a large audience. Where you don’t have to invest much of your time, waste so much energy and money. For example: Sell in webinar, conference, etc.

We all believe that to reach somewhere, we need to go through the proper system and process. Let’s look at the below diagram which will help you in understanding the stages to reach the mass trust.

First, you have to start with learning and then work to implement the learning practically. When you work, you get an experience that will help you to write more about that with confidence hence blogging will come into the picture.

To be honest, the more you write, you become an expert. Gradually, people will approach you for the consultation which will help you to become a good mentor.

Once becomes the mentor, you can create value in people’s lives and they will start trusting you. In the end, you’re ready to start your own organization. This is the cycle of building mass trust.

By this, we’ve reached the conclusion. Marketing is a science that requires a proper study, it’s channeled to get changed from time to time but marketing stays as it is hence we need to be ready with a change in time and technology to create proper marketing strategies.
